Enchanting landscapes<\/strong><\/p>\r\n The Dordogne rises to the east to form causses while to the west the relief drops towards the plains of Saintonge and Guyenne. It is crossed by the Bandiat, the Dronne, the Isle, the Auv\u00e9z\u00e8re, the Dordogne, the V\u00e9z\u00e8re and the Dropt. <\/p>\r\n Prehistory and medieval history<\/strong><\/p>\r\n P\u00e9rigord is the richest department in France, after Paris, in historical monuments. The richness of its past, especially prehistoric (Lascaux, Les Eyzies de Tayac,...), and its gastronomic specialities make the Dordogne a tourist department.
