Gastronomy

Agricultural activities are varied in the Dordogne. In the north, cattle breeding dominates, while most of the department combines crops (cereals, tobacco) and breeding. The Dordogne valley is devoted to market gardening (strawberries) and wine growing (Bergerac, Monbazillac).

It is a region famous for its walnuts, truffles and foie gras.
